Tips
Find Your Light
Face a window or lamp so your face is bright and even—never put the light
behind you, or you’ll look like a silhouette.
Use a Stable, Eye‑Level Camera
Prop your phone or laptop on books until the lens is straight at your eyes;
a steady, level shot instantly feels more professional.
Check Your Sound
Record three seconds and play it back—if you hear hiss, echo, or street
noise, move to a quieter room or plug in simple wired earbuds with a mic.
Teleprompter Placement & Eye Contact
The teleprompter sits as a narrow, dead‑center strip just above the webcam.
Because the text column is tight and directly over the lens, your gaze stays near the camera, avoiding the obvious side‑to‑side “reading” look.
That said, don’t lock your gaze on the teleprompter. Break up the stare from time to time to and make the delivery feel authentic.
Breathe and Smile First
Take one slow breath, smile for a beat, then start speaking—this small reset
calms nerves and makes your opening words sound confident.
Stick the Landing
End with a clear call to action—“I’d love to discuss how I can help
your team”—then hold eye contact for one extra second before the recording stops.
